Gatefold Fluttering Hummingbird Thanks Card Paper Pumpkin Alternative with Belly Band
Creating this Gatefold Fluttering Hummingbird Thanks Card is a colorful alternative using the contents of the March 2026 Paper Pumpkin kit. Below are my instructions!
Normally you don’t need to add additional supplies to the kit, so Paper Pumpkin is a great option for beginner stampers. With the Fluttering Garden kit, this card just needs a colored cardstock and a couple markers! Feel free to change the colors for whatever occasion you need a card for!

I love changing up the kits — creating things different than the intended projects! This time I made a gatefold that highlights the fluttering hummingbirds on a bellyband around the card.
The bellyband should slide off the top of the card easily so you can then open the gates of the card.

How to make a Gatefold Fluttering Hummingbird Thanks Card:
Cut your cardstock:
- Gorgeous Grape:
- 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” scored and folded at 2-1/8” and 6-3/8” for your Gatefold cardbase.
- 1-1/4” x 11”
- Gray cardbase from kit: (2) 2” x 5-1/4”
Stamp your background:
- With basic gray ink, stamp the funky flower randomly around the gray cardbase strips.
- With coordinating markers, color the flowers (they don’t need to look perfect!). I used Old Olive, Petal Pink, and Peach Pie.
- Then, adhere each strip to the front of the gates on your Gatefold cardbase.
Create the bellyband:
- Fold the 1-1/4” strip of cardstock around the back of the Gatefold cardbase and fold it over itself on the front. Adhere it together and trim any excess.
- Lastly, decorate the bellyband with the Thank You and small hummingbird die-cuts from the kit, without adhering them to the cardbase itself.
