Ferris Wheel Double ZFold Birthday Card

Let’s make a Ferris wheel Double Zfold birthday card! Creating a fun fold for a birthday or celebration is easy with the steps I wrote out here and the new Boardwalk Fun stamp and die bundle from Stampin’ Up.

Fun folds may seem intimidating, but this one just looks more complicated than it is. I hope you try it with the steps written below!

There’s something about theme parks that just make me smile. The amusement, the fun, the cotton candy! And stamping the roller coaster above the Bridge Band of this fun fold gives a sense of depth to the card and to how big the park could be!

This card is perfect for a birthday or any reason to celebrate with fun colors and fun die-cuts.

How to make this Ferris Wheel Double ZFold card:

Cut your cardstock:

• Pool Party
  • 4-1/2” x 11”, scored at 2-3/4” and 5-1/2”
  • 1-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2” and 8-1/4” Bridge Band
• DSP A (I chose the Boardwalk and games paper): (2) 4” x 2-1/2”
  • Ensure they are cut tall.
  • Adhere each of these to the Pool Party card between the scored sections (make sure these sections are on your left)
• DSP B (I chose the watercolor paper): (2) 1” x 2-1/2”, 1” x 5-1/4”, and 5-1/4” x 4”
• Next, Die-Cut a Ferris wheel from Summer Splash
• Die-Cut Ferris baskets from Basic Gray and Pretty in Pink, and adhere them to the Ferris wheel.

Stamp:

• Using Secret Sea ink, stamp the roller coaster on the large layer of DSP B, about an inch up from the bottom. Then adhere it down to the “inside” of the Pool Party card.
• Again using Secret Sea ink, stamp Happy Birthday on the right side of the long watercolor strip (DSP B). Adhere it to the long part of the Pool Party strip that is your Bridge Band. Then, adhere the other two pieces of watercolor DSP to the other sections of that strip.

Put it all together:

• Attach the long Pool Party Bridge Band along the bottom of the card. I find this easier to do by folding the shorter sections underneath the longer section at the score lines. Then put adhesive on the back of the right small section, and on the back of the left half of the long section, and adhere it along the bottom of the z-fold cardbase.
• Lastly, attach the Ferris wheel to the “front” of the card with small dots of glue. Ensure it only attaches to the left section when the card is opened!
