Joy Easel Card Paper Pumpkin Alternative

Let’s make a Joy Easel Card as an alternative to the suggested cards in the October Paper Pumpkin kit, Cozy Christmas. The measurements and directions are here.

Normally you don’t need to add additional supplies to the kit, and this alternative is no different. Everything you need is included in the kit that you’ll need for this card.

I love changing up the kits — creating things different than the intended projects! This time I made an easel card that will definitely stand out among other received holiday cards.

To get even more out of your paper pumpkin kits, change up the colors, add a little ribbon, change up the cardstock color, use an embossing folder, or give the paper a little fold.

How to make this Joy Easel Card:

Cut your cardstock and Create Joy:

• Using the Cherry Cobbler card base in the kit, score at 2-1/8” from the left short side.
• With the Pecan Pie ink in the kit, stamp the sentiment along the bottom of the JOY diecut. Adhere the J-O-Y diecut letters next. Than adhere one of the felted green diecut to the back top of the JOY. Add a couple of the red sequins.

Create the Easel:

• Apply glue or adhesive to the lower-half of the JOY diecut on the back. Apply it to the front of your cardbase, adhesive below the score line only (so it doesn’t stick to the top when it’s opened).
• Stamp the sentiment on the inside of the card towards the bottom. Then, with another of the felted green diecuts, add it to the inside of the card using dimensionals and add a few sequins. Prop the card front up behind the dimensionaled diecut on the inside.
