Ombre Cocktail Cheers Card

Let’s make an Ombre Cocktail Cheers Card to celebrate someone. Pick a fun color to make a glass of spirit, stick an umbrella in it, and pair it with your favorite papers.

Whether with cocktails or mocktails, I love to celebrate others! Sending them a card is fun to make and easy to send.

This designer series paper, Florals In Bloom, is really fun to pair with coordinating cardstocks and inks!

Since there are so many colors to work with in this paper, your cocktail or mocktail can be any type! I chose Petunia Pop ink for the Ombre technique, but I can see the new In-Color Timid Tiger making a delicious-looking glass or Shy Shamrock making a marvelous mojito!

See below for how to create an Ombre Cocktail Cheers Card:

How to make an Ombre Cocktail Cheers Card:

Cut your cardstock:

  • Cloud Cover
    • 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”
    • 1” x 5-1/4” strip
  • Floral In Bloom DSP: 5-1/4” x 4”
  • Petunia Pop Glimmer paper: 1” x 5-1/4” strip
  • Basic White: scraps for the glass and umbrella

Stamp and Create the Cocktail Mocktail:

  • With Petunia Pop ink, stamp the sentiment on the left side of the Cloud Cover strip. Adhere that to the middle of the designer series paper. Then adhere the glimmer paper over the bottom edge of that strip. Next, adhere this to the front of your cardbase.
  • Using white scraps, stamp the tall collins glass and the umbrella. Use the markers to color in the umbrella with coordinating colors – I chose Petunia Pop and Cloud Cover. Then, die-cut the glass and umbrella out.
  • To create the Ombre effect inside the glass, use your blender pen to grab Petunia Pop ink from the pad and add it to the glass. Start at the bottom and decrease the amount of ink as you go up to use this technique. Then use the die-cut for the pattern inside the glass.
  • Lastly, adhere the glass and umbrella to the front of your card.
