Twist Corner TriFold Alternative Card Paper Pumpkin Time for Cake August 2024
A Twist Corner Trifold Alternative Card is fun to make with the new August 2024 Paper pumpkin kit, Time for Cake! With just the kit, a small amount of cardstock, and a score line is all it takes to make this creative birthday card.
All of these candles just screamed for them to fold out so you can see how many there are! One for every year of experience!
For the cardstock used as the backboard, you can use the decorated Night of Navy piece that came in the kit, or substitute a 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” piece in any coordinating color, such as Petal Pink or Wild Wheat.

How to make this Twist Corner Trifold Alternative:
Gather and Cut your cardstock:
- Base Night of Navy paper from kit: 5-1/2” x 4-1/4”
- Long Candle strip from kit
- Cut 8” from left, and then score 4” from left
- Cut 4” from left. Can save remaining candles for another alternative
- Cardstock for folding – I used night of navy for one card and petal pink for another: 3-3/4” x 4-3/4”, scored at 3/4”
- Tag from kit ad candle diecut from kit
Create fun fold:
- On long candle strip, mark 3-3/4” from the left on the top. Score diagonally from the left bottom corner. Fold this back (mountain-style) and fold forward on the score line @4”.
- Adhere the right edge onto the 3/4” flap of your cardstock.
- Then adhere the 4” candle piece to the right of the cardstock. Fold the cardstock flap up and the angled candle flap down over it to fold your “mini-card” flat.
Stamp and put it all together:
- Stamp a candle from the kit and adhere it to the bottom left of the folded cardstock front. Then stamp your sentiment on the tag and adhere it on the front to the left flap only.
- Lastly, adhere your closed angled “mini-card” by the back only to the base night of navy paper. I used tear tape for that extra stick!
