Striped Carnival Milkshake Card

Let’s make a Striped Carnival Milkshake Card with some fun retro stripes for the background! Using the host stamp set Carnival Treats paired with the Super Cool stamps, we can make a great card.

These retro stripes add color that not only brightens up a fun card, but also ties into the featured element, the milkshake.

TIP: For a background that pops, pull a design out from your featured element. In this case, I pulled the Calypso Coral and Lost Lagoon stripes from the milkshake cup and recreated it for the background.

See below for how to create a Striped Carnival Milkshake Card:

How to make a Striped Carnival Milkshake Card:

Cut your cardstock:

  • Fresh Freesia: 11 x 4-1/4”, folded at 5-1/2”
  • Basic White: 4 x 5-1/4” and scraps for the milkshake
  • Calypso Coral: 2” strip
  • Lost Lagoon: 3/4” strip

Make the Background:

  • Using versamark ink, stamp the “you are so” on the Lost Lagoon strip. Sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat until it’s shiny. Then adhere this to the center of the Calypso Coral strip.
  • Next, adhere these stripes at an angle across the white cardstock. Trim off the excess.
  • With Lost Lagoon ink, stamp “sweet!” below the stripes. Then adhere this background to the front of your Fresh Freesia card base.

Create the Milkshake:

  • On a scrap of white cardstock, stamp the milkshake with Fresh Freesia ink. Fussy-cut it out. On another scrap of white cardstock, stamp the milkshake again using Calypso Coral ink. Color in the center strip with Lost Lagoon and cut out the stripes. Adhere it to your milkshake. Add some Wink of Stella to the whipped cream if you’d like. Lastly, use dimensionals to adhere this to the left side of your card front.
