Masking is a versatile technique to show off and use more of your stamps on a single project. It’s easy to do: read the tutorial below!

Good coloring can also increase the visual appeal of any paper craft project, especially when it’s color-coordinating. We did that in this card by choosing the same colors for the cardstock and DSPs as the blends markers we chose.

How to make a Fiesta Guacamole Crossover Pocket Card:

Cut your cardstock:

  • Old Olive
    • 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”
    • 4” x 2-3/4”
  • Basic White
    • 3-3/4” x 2-1/2”
  • Designer Series Paper (3 patterns)
    • 4” x 5-1/4”
    • (2) 4” x 2” Cut diagonally. Can be flipped or used for another card!

Make the Criss Cross Pocket:

  • Adhere the large piece of DSP to your Old Olive card front.
  • Then, apply a strip of glue or adhesive along the bottoms and edge of each the triangle pieces of DSP. When you stick these to your card front, there will be a pocket.

Stamping:

  • Using black ink on the white piece of cardstock, stamp your sentiment towards the bottom, the chips along the top and bottom, and then the guacamole. Color these in with your blends markers.
  • To use the masking technique, stamp the guacamole dish on a post-it note and fussy cut it out. Place it over the guacamole you stamped on the cardstock, and stamp a couple avocados next to it. When you peel off the post-it note, the avocados will look like they are behind the guacamole bowl. Color them in with your blends markers.
  • Lastly, adhere this to the small Old Olive cardstock. Then stick this in the pocket!
