Ripper Chrissy Koala Card – Merry Christmas, Mate!

Our challenge theme this week (and the end of most months) at Crafting By Designs is Get ready for Christmas, so I made this Ripper Chrissy Koala Card!

(Dear Australian friends, If at any point I mess up the sweet lingo, please let me know. I wanna learn and I don’t look too odd when I travel!)

Our sponsor is Beccy’s Place, and when I saw this Down Under Aussie digital stamp set, I knew I REALLY wanted to create something fun with it! Australia has been on my bucket list, and marsupials fascinate me. Ok, full disclaimer, MOST animals fascinate me! And this koala is no exception. Wrapped in lights, it reminded me of us trying to decorate for the holidays. As far as I can tell, his lights aren’t blinking, so he might be winning at the decorating.

For the sentiment, I stamped and gold-embossed the ring, and die-cut it out with the stitched circle framelit. I stamped the first half of the sentiment, and used a blends marker to write out “A Ripper.”

Gold embossing is on every piece for continuity. I even embossed a few light streaks on the patterned plaid designer paper around where the koala’s lights would be lit.
