Barndoor Boardwalk Birthday Card

Birthdays are fun to celebrate, so I made a funfold Barndoor Boardwalk Birthday Card to send! With a fun roller coaster and tickets on the front using the new Boardwalk Fun bundle, the front opens like a barn door and the instructions are below.

These new stamps and the coordinating designer series paper (DSP) offer a lot of possibilities for projects, whether for a beach day or a night at an amusement park.

How to make this Barndoor Boardwalk Birthday Card:

Cut your cardstock:

  • Timid Tiger: 4-1/4” x 11, scored and folded at 5-1/2”
  • Beach Boardwalk DSP: 4” x 5-1/4”
  • Daffodil Delight, Blackberry Bliss, and Summer Splash: scraps

Stamp:

  • With Blackberry Bliss ink, stamp the roller coaster along the bottom of the DSP. Adhere it to the front of the orange card base.
  • Then die-cut a ticket from the yellow cardstock and from the purple cardstock. Stamp the sentiment on the yellow one using the purple ink. Adhere these to the DSP above the tracks.
  • Next, die-cut the train car for the roller coaster and adhere them to the tracks using a few dabs of glue.

Last Steps:

  • Using a craft knife or your favorite scissors, cut the card front (through the DSP) along the top of the roller coaster track to the score line. Glue the roller coaster flap to the inside of the card so it’s closed at the bottom.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the inside of the card towards the top.
  • Lastly, die-cut some stars from the Summer Splash glimmer paper and glue a few to the front flap as embellishments.
