Pop Up Drinks Card

A refreshing Pop Up Drinks Card is just what we need! Last week, I made a card front using this stamp set, and I really wanted to make some of the glasses pop up! This card uses the embossed resist technique and watercoloring for fun featured images!

I used the embossed resist technique to watercolor over heat embossed ice cubes so they show up but don’t stand out, like in real life.

How to make this Pop Up Drinks Card:

Cut your cardstock:

Cloud Cover: 5-1/2” x 11
- Cut into two pieces: 5-1/2” x 4-7/8”
- Score on the shorter side at 4-1/4”
Designer Paper: 4-1/8” x 5-1/4”
Watercolor paper scraps
Window sheet: (3) – 3/4” x 2”

Create the drinks:

Use black staz-on ink to stamp a few glasses and a few condiments to embellish the glasses.
With Versamark ink, stamp a few ice cubes at the bottom of some of the glasses. Next, sprinkle white embossing powder of the ice cubes, tap off the excess, and heat until shiny. These will resist the water painting.
Using water painters, grab a little ink and fill each glass with different colors. Do the same with the fruit, vegetable, and herbs. Die-cut out the glasses and extras. Attach the extras as desired.

Make the drinks pop up:

Adhere each of your inside DSP sheets to a Cloud Cover piece, butted up against the score mark. Apply tear tape on the outside flap of one of the pieces, and attach the window sheet strips.
Adhere these to the top of your window sheet strips using glue dots, ensuring they are within the size of the closed card.
Lastly, press the tear tape to the other Cloud Cover piece’s flap for it to adhere together.
Decorate the front of the card as desired.
