Wooden Embellishment Alternatives Memorable Meadows Paper Pumpkin

Wooden Embellishment Alternatives are a great way to spruce up your cards and projects. Here I show three different ways to make the included wooden embellishments coordinate in the March 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit, Memorable Meadows.

No additional supplies are needed with these all-inclusive kits, so these are a great option for beginner stampers. But each can also be a great opportunity to partner with other materials we have!

I love changing up the kits — creating things different than the intended projects! This time I just made a couple simple changes.

But you could change up the colors, ribbons, or cardstock and make them all for different occasions!

See below for three different ways to make coordinating wooden embellishments, each with a unique change to the color before making your card or project:

Different way to make coordinating wooden embellishment alternatives:

Watercolor your wooden embellishment:

• For a lighter subtle color of your wooden embellishment, add some ink with your water painters. This is great when you want to add multiple colors.
• While watercoloring your wooden embellishment, consider having a piece of watercolor paper underneath to simultaneously create a silhouette for another card!

Color your wooden embellishment with Markers:

• With your favorite coordinating markers of Stampin’ Up Blends, add some colors to your wooden embellishment.

Ink and Heat Emboss your wooden embellishment:

• For a shiny and intense look of your wooden embellishment, consider inking it up with either a coordinating color or versamark before sprinkling embossing powder. Shake off the excess and then heat until it’s shiny.

BONUS: Sponge Color onto wooden embellishment.

• While sponging color onto your wooden embellishment, consider having a piece of cardstock underneath to simultaneously create a silhouette for another card!
