Late Night Inkings; Aqua Ombre Background

I’ve always been a bit more of a night-person. That doesn’t mean I don’t get up early like everyone else, but I find myself more likely to try something new, creative, or different later at night. Something new like an Aqua Ombre Background. I don’t think I’m the only one, right?

So when I sat down and turned on the light in my craft closet, I drew inspiration for the color scheme from my newest hair coloring: an aqua ombre with blue roots, teal in the middle, and royal purple for the tips! I like this effect so much I might keep it for longer than usual!

Aqua Ombre Background Ink Drag Technique:

Sponging the colors onto my glossy cardstock didn’t give the heavy color punch I was looking for, so I started dragging my ink pads across the glossy white paper. You need to try this!! It’s so satisfying to use your favorite colors in such a different way!

Pardon my messiness!

I then edged it with a black Staz-On ink pad. Once I was certain everything was dry, I stamped my tree and sentiment using the same ink.

Doesn’t this tree would make a fantastic silhouette? This was definitely the fun background it required.
